In our church we finished the study of 1 Peter.
There we are reminded of a wonderful truth. That God "has begotten us again through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1Pe 1:3) and that Christ " bore our sin that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-by whose stripes you were healed." (1Pe 2:24)
In our daily struggle with sin we may feel sometimes that we are still under the power of sin and losing hope of winning the fight. But, the righteous shall live by faith. Our experience doesn't make faith but faith makes experience. When we believe that we are resurrected with Jesus, that we are born again and have new life within us and that we are already healed from sin by His stripes that cannot be canceled. That kind of faith brings victory and actual fruit of holiness in our life and the ability to "live for righteousness". These promises of God give us hope where our experience fails. This faith will be tested but the "God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you." (1Pe 5:10)
To Him be the glory!
